LEOPOLDSDORF - July 27, 2016 - DPD, Austria's leading parcel carrier, has automated its parcel shops' processes to handle the increased workload resulting from the rise of e-commerce. DPD Austria selected Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA) to insure a smooth transition in its parcel stores and improve customer satisfaction.
Since integrating innovative technology from Zebra, DPD has doubled the number of its partner parcel shops throughout Austria. By using Zebra TC55 enterprise-classtouch computers and GK420D desktop printers, DPD Austria is can now in real-time track and trace all package movement and wirelessly record and transfer all data to DPD Austria's main database center.
KEY FACTS
Cardseven Handelsunternehmen OG, DPD's long-time partner, provided to each parcel store one Zebra TC55 computer and one Zebra GK420D printer, all protected by Zebra OneCare service guaranteeing that any faulty equipment is quickly replaced.
Ignitix, a DPD partner and an expert in supply chain execution software, developed a bespoke software package which is integrated into the Zebra TC55 specifically for DPD Austria parcel stores. This allows store staff to more efficiently process parcels being dropped off for dispatch and collected by customers.
With its intuitive touch screen and integrated scanner, the TC55 offers enterprise-grade functionality which has been easily adopted by store associates.
