ZEE Africa at AFRICACOM 2016 in Cape Town

ZEE Africa was well represented at the recent Industry Day Africa 2016 and TV Connect Africa 2016, which took place in Cape Town on the 14th and 15th of November respectively.

Some of the world's leading suppliers of technology were brought together to discuss current market and industry trends, identify technical challenges and jointly explore future business opportunities. The interactive format of Industry Days was a unique opportunity for ZEE to connect and network with senior representatives from the industry, operators and technical experts and see live demonstrations of the latest technology developments. The day was divided equally between broadcast TV and satellite data network solutions and technology with an industry update focused specifically on Africa.

Harish Goyal - CEO, ZEE TV AFRICAS was a participant in two panel discussions at both conferences. The first panel discussion focused on 'The Future of Digital Broadcast' and discussion followed about opportunities, challenges and anticipated future developments for digital broadcasting and respective business opportunities in the African markets.

The second panel discussion that Goyal lent his expertise to, was at the TV Connect Africa 2016. 'Understanding next generation business models needed to monetise content' was the topic under the spotlight. Key points under review were: comparing revenue share and content lease models, delivering profitability on new digital services, effectively growing advertising revenues and innovation in sales and marketing strategy.

Goyal said, 'Africa is certainly going through exciting times with much anticipated future developments for digital broadcasting and business opportunities in the horizon and ZEE is proud to be a part of this innovative technology evolution.

This was a great networking opportunity for ZEE with key stakeholders and players in the technology and TV industry,' he said.

ZEE Africa is one of the key player in the continent and events of this nature play an important role in building partnerships that will continue to stimulate and support the development of innovative products and concepts for ZEE.
