ZEE Theatre brings the Hindi Drama 'Maa In Transit' featuring Makarand Deshpande to Kolkata

ZEE Theatre, a special offering from the stable of the leading global content company ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., in its maiden Theatre Tour, brings a hindi drama 'Maa In Transit' to Kolkata. Directed by Makarand Deshpande, the play features Makarand Deshpande, Ahlam Khan Karachiwala, Anjum Sharma and Tarun Kumar. The play will be staged in the city on Sunday, February 12th at G.D. Birla Sabhaghar.

The play deals with how a son is not letting his mother go. He tries to delay his mother's last rites in the hope that he can spend more time with her. It's about how the son is reluctant to face his mother, the reality, his fears and their shared truths. It takes the audience back, to the human mind to realisations and forbidden conversations. The play emphasises on how the rituals and traditions can help you come to terms with death. How they slowly shape your mind, help you understand that the person is not present.

Talking about the play Makarand Deshpande comments, 'Maa in Transit took shape in 2015, I'm very happy with the response the play has been receiving so far. I'm glad we're a part of the Zee Theatre Tour in its first ever season, they are helping in exposing us to cities where we have not travelled with the play. It'll be interesting to know the reactions of people from different walks of lives in different cities. We're excited to be performing on the 12th of February at G.D. Birla Sabhaghar.'
