By The 100 Yutong gas-electric hybrid city buses introduced by Dongguan City Bus Transportation Company will be put into operation very soon. The Dongguan citizens will enjoy the comfort and convenience of the new buses on some of the bus routes.
100 Yutong hybrid buses to be put into operation
It is learned this is the first time in Dongguan to use the gas-electric hybrid city buses. Compared with the LNG city buses which are being used on some of the bus routes in Dongguan right now, the hybrid buses are more fuel-efficient and environment friendly.
These hybrid buses feature continuously variable transmission and intelligent control design. Drivers no longer need to step on the clutch pedal and make gear shift frequently, thus reducing the labor intensity of drivers and improving the driving safety. According to the experiment statistics, the gas-electric hybrid buses can save the fuel by 20 percent and cut the carbon emissions by 50 tons each year compared with the diesel buses.

The hybrid bus is 10.5 meters long and has a rated passenger capacity of 79 people, which belongs to the new energy bus category. The gas-electric hybrid bus has both the LNG power device and the electrical power device. Besides the dual-power devices, the vehicle also adopts the intelligent start-and-stop technology of engines and high-efficient power steering technology with a maximum electric power ratio of 51 percent.
The Dongguan Transportation Company said these hybrid buses would replace the diesel city buses running on the bus routes right now. And it is learned, another 300 units of hybrid buses are expected to be introduced.
