On April 15, Zoomlion held a press conference at the Zoomlion Lugu Industrial Park in China to announce a new set of product color options. The new color themes - cosmic cobalt gray, gravel gray, and aurora green - signal the company's transition towards high-end and smart service-oriented manufacturing.

Zoomlion caught the eyes of everyone present at the press conference by showcasing 12 of its flagship products in the new paintcoat. The company is expected to finalize the design for its entire range of products and begin initial release by June, before making all of them available by the end of this year.

New "Natural" & "Environmental" Colors

Zoomlion's makeover is the result of 10 months of hard work by the renowned industrial design team at Italian company Zagato. Speaking from experience after overseeing the entire redesign, Wang Ke, Vice Director of Brand Marketing of Zoomlion Overseas Branch Company said that the cosmic cobalt gray color has a strong metallic feel that sparkles like the stars in the sky. It is outstanding and futuristic, and reflects the modern design and technological advances of Zoomlion products. Gravel gray on the other hand symbolizes the urban civilization. Gravel is a natural construction material gifted to man by nature. The future generations can build their dreams using gravel the same way that Zoomlion products can help people realize their dreams and create their most ideal "home". Finally, aurora green represents vitality and growth. These three colors are inspired by nature and express the great harmony between Zoomlion products and the environment. Rich in contemporary and industrial design, the new color options not only reflect the smart and humanized design of Zoomlion products, they also reflect the company's role in helping people pursue a better life. At the same time, compared to the old colors, the amount of heavy metal inorganic pigments used in the new colors have been drastically reduced, making them friendlier to nature and the environment.

New Era of "Smart" & "Extreme" Equipment

According to Wang Yukun, the company's Chief Information Officer, Zoomlion has decided to make huge investment in the new colors because the company recognizes the great changes that Industry 4.0 and Web 2.0 will bring. The transformation will bring digital technology into value-added services, and as a result, changing the company's profit model. The change in product colors is not just an enhancement of appearance, but also Zoomlion's commitment to ensure a comprehensive upgrade of concepts, designs, manufacturing and services.

During the live demonstration session, Wang Yukun showcased Zoomlion's proprietary global PLM platform, a cloud-based think tank that enables nearly 30 million engineers from Asia, Europe and America to collaborate and develop products together. The PLM platform increase modular design capabilities and fulfil customers' personalized design needs more quickly. Zoomlion's 101m concrete truck-mounted pump with carbon-fiber boom which broke Guinness World Record in 2012, was an innovation created through the PLM platform.

In addition, Zoomlion also introduced its major foray into Industry 4.0 with the MES smart manufacturing control system, smart production line and smart cloud service system. Not only can these products integrate key manufacturing considerations, such as manpower, equipment and materials, intelligently, they are also equipped with other functions including automatic data collection and storage, malfunction warning, and operational analysis to provide customers with 24-hour uninterrupted smart services.

"The update in colors is the embodiment and realization of Zoomlion's commitment to pursuing perfection and being accountable. The company's products will experience a complete upgrade in terms of technology, quality, cost and services. Through meticulous production and the unwavering pursuit of better designs, Zoomlion will continue to create world-class products that can benefit the world," said Sun Changjun, Vice President of Zoomlion, at an interview.
