ANCHOR QUESTION OFF-CAMERA (ENGLISH) SAYING:

There was a lot of controversy around the author Michael Lewis, his book Flash Boys, saying that the US stock market is rigged. Thoughts?

JIM ROGERS, INVESTOR (ENGLISH) SAYING:

Well, I mean it's a little bit absurd to say that because who can rig something as big as the US stock. Now maybe people can 'rig' it for a few seconds or a few minutes, or half a day or something but the idea that anybody has enough money or if have enough influence to change the direction of the stock market, I mean, please that shows somebody who doesn't understand markets. Maybe he's trying to sell books and maybe he will sell books. But the idea that you can 'rig' the stock market for more than a few seconds or a few minutes, or maybe an hour or two is insane.

ANCHOR QUESTION OFF-CAMERA (ENGLISH) SAYING:

So you're not concerned about high-frequency trading?

JIM ROGERS, INVESTOR (ENGLISH) SAYING:

Well, no, I mean I don't care how people make money as long as they do it legally. If they're front-running as he seem to think they are, then sure, that should be stopped. And inside information should be stopped if that's going on. But again, even if all of that is true, it doesn't rig the stock market for more than a few seconds or minutes, or maybe a day. But you cannot change the direction no matter how much money you have.

ANCHOR QUESTION OFF-CAMERA (ENGLISH) SAYING:

And the Dow's hit an all time record and the S&P is inching up. Are the markets overvalued?

JIM ROGERS, INVESTOR (ENGLISH) SAYING:

Well, they're certainly high. In some parts, they're probably overvalued, maybe above on things like social media or biotechnology. You know, the S&P is making a new high but the average S&P stock is only up 9% - oh sorry - is down 9% this year. So it's only a few stocks, a few big stocks that are causing the S&P to go up. Now, as you know from watching Reuters Financial, that means that the distribution or the breadth is not very good and that often has been a danger sign. I have no idea if it is this time.
