Biography

Larry Page is Google’s CEO and co-founder with Sergey Brin. In 2011 was ranked 24th world fortune from Forbes.

After his bachelor in computer engineering, Larry Page started his studies in computing at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, while Internet is just at first step. Larry Page works on a project to increase the results’ relevance of search engine. There he met another young student, Sergey Brin, whose he proposes to participate in this project.

The results of their research exceeds expectations, it is recorded in a document entitled "The Anatomy of a Large-Scale hyper textual Web Search Engine” and it became the bible for search engines’ creative. With a new knowledge gained, Larry Page and Sergey Brin founded their fist search engine called BlackRub. They buy few computers that they stock in their student’s room. Quickly the BlackRub’s reputation goes up Stanford.

In 1997, the mark google.com is registered. In 1998, Brin and Page founded the company Google, and they moved computers, stocked in their student’s room, in a garage in Menlo Park. In 1999 the Google’s servers found oneself again cramped. Then, they moved into a huge buildings’ complex in Mountain View, which is now the firm’s headquarter called Googleplex.

Between 1995 and 2000 many start-ups follow the Google’s slipstream, must of them explode during the internet bubble burst, while Google shows healthy financial situation. In 2001 Erick Schmidt was nominated as CEO, while Sergey Brin is a products branch’s president and Larry Page is head of technologies branch.

In 2004, Google reaches a market capitalization of $ 23 billion, the employees, who are also the shareholders, become millionaire in a very short time. The triumvirate, opts to pay him a symbolic wage of one dollar per year, and gives up his bonus.

The advertising links to Google dominate the advertising market on internet. The strategic alliances with AOL and Netscape allow Google to have an important growth. In 2006, Google bought You Tube for $ 1.65 billion.

Far to be satisfied, Google multiplies services and creates innovative applications as mail service Gmail or Google Earth.

Google counts 20000 employees, and most of them work at Google’s Headquarter in Mountain View, California.
