The Cabinet has announced the following decisions concerning the Governor and Deputy Governors of the Bank of Japan.

  • Haruhiko Kuroda was appointed Governor on March 20, 2013.
  • Kikuo Iwata was appointed Deputy Governor on March 20, 2013.
  • Hiroshi Nakaso was appointed Deputy Governor on March 20, 2013.
  • The resignation of Governor Masaaki Shirakawa was approved on March 19, 2013.

The terms of office for Deputy Governors Hirohide Yamaguchi and Kiyohiko Nishimura ended on March 19, 2013.
