COWON Systems (CEO Nam-kyu Park,
www.COWON.com) revealed that the 7-inch big
screen super PMP 'COWON R7' would be
released on December 2.
'COWON R7' is a new product ambitiously
presented by COWON, which has maintained
number one market share in the PMP market,
and it includes a big screen with full HD
high resolution images, a sensual design,
an intuitive user interface and abundant
academic contents.
The biggest apparent change is the bigger
screen.
'COWON R7' comes with a 7-inch clear LCD
which is much larger than the 4-5 inch
screens of smart phones and the 5-inch
standard of existing PMPs, and is expected
to be popular among users who want to enjoy
high resolution images with a bigger
screen.
Focus was especially placed on active
differentiation from existing smart devices
through a strong video playing
function.
'COWON R7' can play almost all types of
video files including full HD videos
without encoding, and provides realistic
sound through 3D stereo, playing speed
adjustments and other optimized video
playing functions.
In addition, it can freely send and play
large files that are 4GB or more, which is
impossible for most mobile devices.
Another strength of the product is the
playing time and storage space sufficient
for enjoying high resolution, large
files.
'COWON R7' can play music for 65 hours and
videos for 10 hours and stand by for 450
hours, and has an internal memory of up to
64GB and the storage capacity can freely be
expanded using a micro SD card.
An ergonomic design and user-focused
interface are also presented.
The soft curved arch-design has a two-toned
color of white and gray for a sophisticated
exterior. It is explained that the curved
side especially holds close to the hand in
a stable way so it feels comfortable in the
hand even after use for a long time.
The tile-form icons were created in
consideration of the intuitive use of
users, and the icons can be placed and
colored freely according to the taste of
the user.
There are also a wide variety of abundant
academic contents for students studying for
major exams.
It not only provides famous internet
lectures such as Megastudy, ETOOS and
VITAEDU, but also includes the Doosan Donga
English-Korean and Korean-English
dictionary and the new Korean dictionary as
basic functions.
It additionally provides various
specialized academic features such as
AVDic, which shows you the meaning of a
word if you touch the subtitle while
watching a movie, Dootester, the Doosan
Donga e-learning workbook, the vocabulary
learning programs Wordup and Mega15, and
Alphabrain, which improves
concentration.
Furthermore, the peerless sound field
system of COWON, 'JetEffect 3.0' and 'BBE+'
allows users to enjoy music together with
subsidiary features such as a digital
picture frame, HDMI video output, voice
recording and a document reader.
COWON CEO Nam-kyu Park said, "'COWON R7' is
a product with strong multimedia functions
through a big screen and a user-focused
design," and added, "We will continue to
lead the market by maximizing unique values
of PMPs that are differentiated from smart
devices."
Meanwhile, COWON plans to hold a release
celebratory event through the COWON website
until the end of December, giving away
products such as 'COWON R7,' 'iAUDIO 10,'
and Liaail 'Sound Capsule.'
The 'COWON R7' will be released in 16GB,
32GB and 64GB, and the price range is from
299,000 won to 399,000 won according to the
product storage capacity.
