Storage Visions 2014, Jan. 5-6 in Las Vegas, Nev., will host members of the Trusted Computing Group to talk about data protection and how content can be secured against loss, theft and attacks.

The January 5 session, Keeping It Safe: Protecting, Storing and Recovering Personal and Commercial Content, will cover the challenges facing security and protection of stored content, including content on mobile devices as well as at home and in the cloud. The session also will look at the use of metadata for finding content and how standardized security products are making data security easier while enabling content sharing. Panelists also will discuss data recovery.

Jim Handy, Objective Analysis, will moderate the session. Speakers from DriveSavers Data Recovery, Kroll OnTrack, Micron, Data Confidential and Gillware will join Michael Willett of TCG's Storage Work Group and Samsung.

TCG's standards for self-encrypting drives, or SEDs, are embedded into enterprise and many consumer HDDs and solid state drives and provide always on, instant hardware-based encryption for data at rest.

The Storage Visions® Conference is the premier event bringing together digital storage oriented people from throughout the digital content creation, distribution and use value chain. Attendees will discover the trends and meet the trendsetters that will drive a new wave of business tied to higher content stereoscopic resolution, more distribution channels, and new digital storage technologies. More info at www.storagevisions.com.
