Visions 2014, Jan. 5-6 in Las Vegas, Nev., will host members of the Trusted
Computing Group to talk about data protection and how content can be
secured against loss, theft and attacks.
The January 5 session, Keeping It Safe: Protecting, Storing and
Recovering Personal and Commercial Content, will cover the
challenges facing security and protection of stored content, including
content on mobile devices as well as at home and in the cloud. The
session also will look at the use of metadata for finding content and
how standardized security products are making data security easier while
enabling content sharing. Panelists also will discuss data recovery.
Jim Handy, Objective Analysis, will moderate the session. Speakers from
DriveSavers Data Recovery, Kroll OnTrack, Micron, Data Confidential and
Gillware will join Michael Willett of TCG's Storage Work Group and
for self-encrypting drives, or SEDs, are embedded into enterprise and
many consumer HDDs and solid state drives and provide always on, instant
hardware-based encryption for data at rest.
