AMSTERDAM--The jobless rate in the Netherlands rose slightly in September, official data showed Thursday.
The statistics agency CBS said the total of number unemployed rose to 519,000, or 6.6% of the workforce, from 514,000, or 6.5% of the workforce, in August.
Unemployment in the Netherlands is still among the lowest in the euro zone, but it has been rising for more than a year amid a sluggish economy.
The Dutch economy has grown slowly for the past two quarters, but remains stuck in crisis mode due to weak domestic demand and slowing exports.
