EMAK's Jim Holbrook Takes Charge as PMA Chair
05/19/2011 | 09:10am
Jim Holbrook has big plans for PMA.
Holbrook was installed today as the Chairman of the Promotion Marketing
Association, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this
year. As much as the $750 billion industry has evolved over the past
century, it's on the cusp of another leap forward as Holbrook and PMA
President Bonnie Carlson steer the association towards the future.
"PMA is the place for Game Changers: marketers who shake it up, do it
differently, and work harder to make a difference. We believe in deep
insights, big ideas, and integrated programs," said Holbrook. "My vision
for the PMA is to make it where the action is - from membership, share
groups, and Chapter events, to the Law Conference, Annual Conference,
and REGGIE Awards."
"For promotion marketers, the goal is the same as it was 100 years ago,
but the tools and the strategy are exponentially more powerful,"
Holbrook continued. "It's an exciting time to bring PMA into the next
generation."
"Jim's vision for PMA brings a new energy to the organization," said
Carlson. "His experience, his strategic thinking, and his sense of humor
are great assets for PMA."
Holbrook is CEO of EMAK Worldwide and its award-winning agencies Upshot
and Neighbor. He is a veteran of management and marketing at Procter &
Gamble and Ralston Purina (now NestlePurina). Holbrook was president of
Zipatoni, and an executive at Interpublic Group of Cos. following its
purchase of Zipatoni. He holds degrees from Washington University and
Vanderbilt University, and spent one very interesting day with Sam
Walton. Holbrook curates the Website DoBetterMarketing.com.
Holbrook succeeds PMA's past Chairman Bill Sinnott, Chairman of the
executive management committee at D.L. Ryan Cos.
