On behalf of the Government and the people of Lithuania, Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis extends sincere greetings to France on its National Day, Bastille Day, and wishes the French nation welfare and prosperity.
The Prime Minister is delighted that Lithuania and France are strategic partners, successfully develop close cooperation based on mutual respect and values, and hold constructive political dialogue in the international organisations.
'Our countries share a busy European agenda and make joint efforts to ensure security. Lithuania greatly appreciates the consolidating role played by France in the face of challenges in the European Union. We are ready to contribute, by every means available, while aiming to maintain unity of the European Union and building the ever more harmonious and sustainable European Union. We are grateful to France for deploying its contingent in NATO's enhanced Forward Presence Battalion in Lithuania. Lithuania will always aim only to enhance and strengthen the bilateral strategic cooperation with France', reads the Prime Minister's letter.
