KUB APPOINTS ACTING CEO

Petaling Jaya, October 18 – KUB Malaysia Berhad (KUB) today announced the appointment of Dato’ Wan Mohd Nor Wan Ahmad to the position of Acting Chief Executive Officer, effective yesterday October 17, 2011.

Wan Mohd Nor holds a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) from University of Malaya, Malaysia, a Master in Business Administration from University of South Florida, USA, and a Master in Port Management and Harbour Administration from University of Antwerp, Belgium.

Prior to the appointment, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Summit Petroleum, a wholly owned subsidiary of KUB since September 2001 and has more than 30 years of experience in strategic and operational senior management.

Wan Mohd Nor has also been involved in banking, construction, timber and manufacturing industries and port operation.

Datuk Mohd Nazar Samad has formally tendered his resignation as Group Managing Director yesterday, will continue his current position until November 30, 2011.

Mohd Nazar, who has been at the helm of the Group for more than four years, had navigated KUB through its critical times and his efforts have resulted in strong financial and operational performance for KUB to-date.

KUB’s Chairman, Dato’ Abdul Halim Abdul Samad, Board Directors and KUB senior management team expressed their appreciation to Mohd Nazar for his role in turning around KUB to a more efficient and viable entity all these years.

In addition to that, Board Directors of KUB have also appointed Dr Wan Ahmad Rudirman Wan Razak as the Group’s Acting Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Wan Ahmad Rudirman holds a Doctor of Business Administration from University of South Australia, Australia, a Master of Business Administration from University Of North London, United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Art (Hons) in Accounting from University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom. He was previously the General Manager of Group Operation Services of KUB.
