NetComm's fibre and IPv6 ready ADSL2+ Wireless Modem Router is now available

11/10/2011 | 04:00am

10 November, 2011 (Sydney): NetComm Limited (ASX: NTC) today announced that the NetComm ADSL2+ Modem Router with Gigabit WAN, VoIP, 3G and USB host (NB16WV) is now available to personal and business Internet users requiring a future-proof central connection point for all online activities.

The NB16WV offers multiple connection options including high-speed ADSL2+, 3G and Gigabit Ethernet broadband to prepare users for the NBN Co's national rollout of fibre-to-the-premise installations. The future-ready device also offers IPv6 Internet Protocol address (IP address) capabilities to support emerging technologies once IPv4 addresses are exhausted.

In todays connected world more and more business are reliant on a constant internet connection for e-mails, sales orders and accessing extranets. As cloud computing becomes more mainstream the risk of downtime from a fixed line failure can cost business severely, with fallback to 3G in the event of such a failure the NetComm 3G16WV can be a real business lifesaver.

."The technological advancements shaping our future are fast coming to fruition in Australia. We are pleased to have released a product that prepares personal and business users for what's around the corner, while catering to all of today's communication needs," said Danny Morrison, General Manager, NetComm.

With it's built in FXS port users can take advantage of VoIP services using a standard telephone, combine this with a "naked" DSL plan or upcoming fibre networks and homes and business can do away with their telephone line rental completly. The adaptable NB16VW also incorporates two USB host ports for the creation of a shared printer or mass storage network. These features can be shared between multiple users and devices via the built-in wireless access point, or the four LAN Ethernet ports for wired connections.

The NB16WV incorporates high-speed Wireless N and a powerful signal for the simultaneous connection of WiFi enabled devices including laptops, smart phones, gaming consoles, tablets and PCs.
