NCC Media Part of Synacor 3-Tier Ad Sales Offering: National, Regional and Local

NCC Media Continues Its Expansion Into Representation of Digital and Online Media Properties of the Multichannel Industry

BUFFALO, N.Y. and NEW YORK, Sept. 19, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Synacor, Inc. (Nasdaq:SYNC), leading provider of next-gen portals, TV Everywhere solutions and cloud-based services across multiple devices, today announced a partnership with NCC Media, the cable industry's multi-platform ad sales organization, to sell Synacor's regional online inventory of 20 million average monthly unique users. The NCC Media agreement executes against Synacor's 3-Tier Ad Sales Strategy of driving overall yield by deploying National, Regional and Local sales reps. Synacor maintains its own national sales force footprint, while NCC Media will represent regional and spot-market online inventory.

NCC Media holds a unique position in the advertising sales community as the only organization to reach across every U.S. DMA, representing cable, satellite and telco operators. As part of the partnership, NCC Media will sell regional advertising inventory on Synacor's web portals, in conjunction with NCC's existing broad portfolio of multichannel operator web properties, to ensure that advertisers can reach their customers easily and effectively. Synacor's portals, or "startpages," provide consumers with online access to email, TV Everywhere services, social networks, news, games and services, all through a central, customizable hub.

"Advertisers are always looking for smarter ways to reach and engage consumers. In conjunction with the TV and online ad products NCC Media currently markets on behalf of the multichannel industry, Synacor provides additional access to highly targeted audiences and seamless online integration into select cable, satellite and telco affiliate web properties," said Ken Little, COO, NCC Media. "With the addition of Synacor's reach to our established suite of cable, online and digital offerings, NCC Media can now deliver online inventory across every U.S. market."

Synacor's startpages are built on behalf of cable, satellite and telecom companies and visited by subscribers wanting to enjoy their favorite movies, TV shows and games online, as well as to use email, social media and other services. Synacor's startpages, integrated into pay-TV companies' billing systems, provide granular audience targeting capabilities as well as zip code, demographic, purchase intent and retargeting. And Synacor's massive reach provides advertisers with high-impression volume for regional audiences.

"Our relationship with NCC Media fulfills a critical need that provides Synacor with exceptional regional coverage from a world-class ad sales organization and gives advertisers the scalability to engage with consumers across multiple markets," said Synacor COO Scott Bailey. "Together we are able to unlock the value of our vast digital inventory to enable advertisers to reach their customers on multiple screens with unmatched buying efficiencies. NCC Media is a great complement to our national advertising sales force."
