For the first time ever, a single company will manage two
of the three most important zones of the capital's
traffic light network distribution
January 25, 2012 - Telvent GIT, S.A., a leading real-time
IT solutions and information provider for a sustainable
world, announced today that the City of Madrid has awarded
the company a contract to manage, operate and maintain
mobility control systems through the traffic light
infrastructure on the inner M-30 and the beltway's
eastern and northern zone, extending, inclusively, from the
district of Fuencarral - El Pardo to the Puente de Vallecas
district.
This project, affecting the management of over 1600

The management and control scope of the contract
encompasses operation of all systems and the integration of

(Comprehensive Traffic Control System of Madrid, in its
Spanish acronym) system, as well as the treatment of
information for improving pedestrian and vehicle traffic
mobility in the city of Madrid, contributing to the
enhancement of citizens' quality of life in the capital
city.
Telvent will be in charge of executing work involved in
system administration and monitoring out of the Mobility
Management Center (CGM, in its Spanish acronym) through
year-round 24-hour service to continually verify traffic
control system operation. The company will also undertake
preventive and corrective infrastructure maintenance. These
tasks and maintenance checks will help provide
premium-quality service, and enable rapid system
restoration in the event of operational malfunctions or
unforeseen events.
According to Ignacio González, chairman and chief executive
officer of Telvent, "We are very pleased to be able to
once again work with the City of Madrid and contribute
through our expertise and experience to improved mobility
