(TAP) – Tunisia will host, in November 2018, the 22nd International Business Development Forum "FUTURALLIA 2018", said Tarek Cherif, president of the Confederation of Tunisian Citizen Entrprises (CONECT).

Speaking Wednesday at a meeting with the press organised by CONECT International to present the results of its activities in 2017, Chérif added that this event has the main mission to promote the international development of Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) / small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and presents itself as a meeting place for entrepreneurs.

It will bring together about 500 Tunisian, European, Arab and African investors, he said.

Referring to the question of the access of Tunisian companies to the African market, Chérif said "it takes a real will and a real state policy to support the process of internationalisation of Tunisian companies and strengthen their position on this market."

Cherif, called for strengthening the presence of Tunisian banks and insurance companies on the continent, in addition to the establishment of real economic diplomatic representations.

The president of CONECT also considered that the guarantees granted by the State for exports to the African market, particularly in the transport sector, do not put the Tunisian investor on an equal footing with his competitors, especially as some countries guarantee free transport for their exporters.

For Cherif, the role of Conect International can support the mission assigned to support structures in the field of exports and investments.

"CONECT International aims to develop the exports of Tunisian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and assist them in their internationalisation," he said.

Referring to the action plan for the year 2018, he indicated that CONECT International plans to organise 16 businessmen missions abroad that will target about 40 countries including, in particular, Benin, Gabon, China, Russia, Bulgaria besides the schedule of 3,000 business B to B meetings.
