Appropriations Committee Names New Agriculture Subcommittee Clerk

House Appropriations Chairman Hal Rogers today announced that Tom O'Brien will serve as the Clerk of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture. The post was open following the retirement of Martin Delgado, a 16-year veteran of the Committee.
Tom O'Brien has served on the Agriculture Subcommittee for five years, providing budget analysis of many agencies and programs, including the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, the Food and Nutrition Service, and the Foreign Agriculture Service. O'Brien's experience also includes 20 years in the Executive Branch at the Food and Drug Administration and the United States Department of Agriculture, including as CFO of the Food Safety and Inspection Service.
"I am pleased to name Tom as the new Clerk of the Agriculture Subcommittee. He has the experience, know-how, and professionalism to lead the way in crafting the Agriculture Appropriations bill, and I look forward to working with him in his new role," Chairman Rogers said.
