Xinjiang Shengli Steel Pipe Co., Ltd., an indirectly
owned subsidiary of Shengli Oil & Gas Pipe Holdings
Limited, has its qualifications upgraded to meet the higher
requirements in major pipeline projects at home and
abroad.
Xinjiang Shengli has a production line to make SSAW
pipes of diameters from 508mm to 2540mm for oil and gas
transmission. In August of 2011, Shandong Shengli Steel
Pipe Co., Ltd., an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of
Shengli Oil & Gas Pipe Holdings, bought a 55 per cent
equity stake in Xinjiang Shengli, which was formerly known
as Huayou Xingye (Xinjiang) Petroleum Equipment Manufacture
Co., Ltd.
With an aim to broaden the acquired company's
business scope and meet the market demands, Shandong
Shengli's top management started working on Xinjiang
Shengli's qualification upgrade after it officially took
over the company in September this year. Xinjiang
Shengli leveraged Shandong Shengli's management, technology
and talent to prepare for its qualification upgrade in
licensing under API (American Petroleum Institute) Monogram
Program, ISO9001 quality management system standards and
pressure pipe component manufacturing licence in about four
months.
On the 27th of November, 2011, Xinjiang Shengli
passed the certification of API's more stringent standard
of PSL2 (Product Specification Level 2 for steel). On the
1st of December, 2011, the company's scope of
qualifications under ISO9001 expanded to include SSAW pipe
production. On the 23rd of December of 2011, Xinjiang
Shengli passed an appraisal with additional requirements
for a licence to manufacture components of pressure pipes.
As a result, Xinjiang Shengli has obtained all the
essential qualifications for oil and gas pipe production,
paving the way for its further expansion of domestic and
international markets.
