On May 16, Icelandair launched a non-stop seasonal service between Pittsburgh and Iceland. Pittsburgh is Icelandair's sixteenth destination in North America and Icelandair will offer four flights a week until the end of October.

Pittsburgh is the second largest city in the state of Pennsylvania. It lies on the banks of three rivers and is therefore often called the city of bridges. The destination has a lot to offer, culture, beautiful public parks, interesting historical sites, outdoor adventures, and sports events.

Bogi Nils Bogason, President and CEO of Icelandair:

"Pittsburgh is the latest addition to our extensive route network and our sixteenth destination in North America. The North American market has been very strong and in recent years, US citizens have been the largest group of tourists visiting Iceland. The Pittsburgh route is off to a good start, with passengers from 25 European destinations booked to Pittsburgh and travelers from Pittsburgh have booked flights to 30 destinations in Europe."
