International stocks trading in New York closed mostly higher on Thursday.
The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts ticked up 1.3% to 142.35. The European index edged up 1.2% to 138.26. The Asian index rose 1.8% to 163.81. The Latin American index was flat at 182.53, while the emerging-markets index gained 1.6% to 274.38.
ArcelorMittal was among the companies whose ADRs traded actively.
The steelmaker's ADRs edged up 1.6% after the company said Thursday it signed an agreement to acquire Polish scrap metal recycling business Zlomex.
BP PLC's ADRs edged up 0.4% after the London-based oil and gas company said Wednesday that it completed its purchase of Archaea Energy Inc.
