(Alliance News) - On Tuesday, major European stock markets confirm expectations and open in the green as a slew of macro data is released across the Eurozone.

Thus, the FTSE Mib opens in green by 0.1 percent at 34,334.53, the Mid-Cap is in fractional red at 47,591.60, the Small-Cap is on the parity threshold at 29,081.31, while Italy Growth is up 0.2 percent at 8,241.96.

In Europe, Paris' CAC 40 is in the green by 0.1 percent, London's FTSE 100 is up 0.3 percent, and Frankfurt's DAX 40 is up 0.1 percent.

In macroeconomic news, German retail sales rose 1.8% month-on-month in March, beating market forecasts of 1.3% and surpassing February's downwardly revised 1.5% decline.

In France, preliminary data showed that the French economy grew by 0.2% in the first quarter of 2024, exceeding market forecasts and fourth quarter data by 0.1%.

French domestic producer prices fell 0.2 percent month-on-month in March, easing from a 1.7 percent drop in the previous month.

This was the fourth consecutive month of deflation, but the weakest since December 2023, as costs fell the least for mining, energy and water, down 0.5 percent from February's 6.1 percent decline.

On the Mib, FinecoBank does best of all, up 1.3%. Also going up is STMicroelectronics, up 1.0%.

ERG also does well, in the green by 0.2%. The company announced Wednesday that it has finalized, through its subsidiary ERG USA Holding, the closing with Apex Clean Energy Holdings for the acquisition of 75 percent of the portfolio consisting of one wind and one solar plant in the U.S., both in operation, totaling 317 MW of installed capacity and an estimated production of about 1 TWh.

The company explained that the transaction is the ERG group's first step into the overseas renewables market and represents a unique opportunity to continue the growth of the asset portfolio, increasing its geographical and technological diversification.

Tenaris rises 0.1 percent. On Thursday the company reported results for the first quarter of the year, which ended with a profit of USD750 million, down from USD1.13 billion in the first quarter of 2023. Revenues increased to USD3.44 billion from USD4.14 billion in the same period.

Among the bearish, Iveco Group--in the red by 0.2 percent--reported Monday that FPT Industrial has signed a global partnership agreement with Longen Power on exporting engines to different regions of the world, starting a new chapter of cooperation.

FPT Industrial is an Iveco Group brand dedicated to the design, manufacture and sale of powertrains and solutions for on-road and off-road vehicles, as well as marine and power generation applications.

Amplifon gives up 0.1 percent. The company disclosed Monday that it has completed the acquisition of Hearing Instruments, and Precision Hearing Aid, two companies owned by one of Miracle-Ear's major franchisees to which about 35 stores in the U.S., the world's largest hearing care market, belong.

The acquired stores are located in Pennsylvania, generate annual sales of about USD20 million and employ about 80 people.

Also going down are Stellantis, which sits at the bottom at the start, in the red by 1.7 percent, preceded by Telecom Italia, down 0.7 percent.

On the cadet segment, Lottomatica Group rises 1.2% after it reported Tuesday that it closed the first quarter with revenues of EUR8.7 billion, up 20% from EUR7.3 billion as of March 31, 2023.

Revenues in the period stood at EUR440.1 million, up 4.0% to EUR422.3 million in the previous year.

d'Amico International Shipping gives up 0.8 percent. The company announced Friday that its Irish operating subsidiary d'Amico Tankers DAC has entered into a construction contract with Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding, China, to purchase two additional new LR1 'Long Range' tankers -- 75,000 deadweight tons -- at a contract price of USD56.2 million each.

Saras gives up 0.2 percent. The company announced Friday that, in connection with Vitol's prospective acquisition of a representative stake of about 35 percent of Saras' share capital, the Prime Minister's Office issued a decree regarding the exercise of special powers - golden power - "containing prescriptions that do not impede the completion of the transaction."

Therefore, the statement says, one of the related conditions precedent for the completion of the transaction is fulfilled.

Webuild - in the green by 0.9 percent - announced Monday that its U.S. subsidiary Lane has been awarded the USD110 million contract in the U.S. for the construction of the Newsport News section of the "I-64 HREL highway project in the city of Hampton, Virginia.

The new contract follows the recent announcement of the acquisition in Florida of the USD299 million project, also 100% Lane, to widen the Seminole Expressway/SR 417.

Among the smallcaps, Monrif -- not yet affected by trading -- reported Monday that it reported consolidated revenues of EUR147.3 million in 2023 from EUR157.9 million in the year ended Dec. 31, 2022.

Group operating loss stood at EUR1.7 million from a profit of EUR314,000.

Itway - not yet affected by the exchanges - ended 2023 with a pre-tax loss of EUR481,000 from one of EUR362,000 as of Dec. 31, 2022, while net loss was EUR330,000 from one of EUR348,000.

Revenues for the period stood at EUR49.1 million from EUR46.7 million in 2022.

Going to the bottom, giving up 21 percent, Autostrade Meridionali.

Among SMEs, TraWell Co - in the green by 3.0% - reported that it closed 2023 with a profit of EUR3.3 million from EUR1.3 million as of December 31, 2022, up 159%.

Revenues were EUR30.3 million from EUR26.3 million, up 15 percent.

Digital Value -- in the green by 1.7 percent -- reported that it ended fiscal year 2023 with revenues of EUR847.4 million, up 20 percent from EUR708.5 million as of Dec. 31, 2022.

Profit in the period amounted to EUR38.6 million from EUR34.0 million in FY2022.

In Asia, the Nikkei closed in the green 1.2 percent to 38,405.66, the Hang Seng was in the green 0.2 percent to 17,788.87, and the Shanghai Composite closed in the red 0.3 percent to 3,104.82.

In New York on Monday, the Dow Jones closed in the green by 0.4 percent at 38,386.09, the S&P finished in the green by 0.3 percent at 5,116.17, and the Nasdaq closed up 0.4 percent at 15,983.08.

Among currencies, the euro changed hands at USD1.0705 from USD1.0716 on Friday in closing European equities while the pound was worth USD1.2533 from USD1.2551 on Friday evening.

Among commodities, Brent crude is worth USD87.33 a barrel from USD87.22 a barrel Friday night and gold trades at USD2,328.50 an ounce from USD2,349.25 an ounce Friday night.

Tuesday's macroeconomic calendar includes, at 0955 CEST in Germany, the unemployment figure.

In the UK, at 1030 CEST, mortgage data are published and at 1100 CEST in Italy it is the turn of inflation data, as well as for the Eurozone.

In the afternoon, overseas, at 1500 CEST, housing price data are released in the US.

Among companies listed in Piazza Affari, results from BasicNet, FAE Technology, Seri Industrial and Stellantis, among others, are expected.
