3M Company shares declined a modest 0.06% yesterday on about 1.6 million shares traded. Though there was no major news from the company yesterday, it announced earlier in the week that its MMM Filtrete Brand has launched the industry's first Bluetooth-enabled HVAC (heating, ventilation and cooling) home air filter named Filtrete Smart Air Filter. The Filtrete brand can be connected to iOS or Android mobile devices via Bluetooth and filters will no longer have to be necessarily replaced when the customary three months are over. Instead, the air flow and usage in the home can determine how long the filters can work. The Filtrete Smart Air Filters will be available in the market this spring. Amanda Dauphinais, the global business unit manager of the Filtrete Brand remarked, "When we talk with consumers, many know their air filter is designed to last on average three months, but every home is unique. Homeowners are unsure how their home's environment impacts their indoor air and the optimal time to change their air filter, And, they often forget important details like their filter size and type when it is time to change. The Filtrete Smart Air Filter takes the guess work out, helping homeowners take control of the air in their homes."

The solutions will be deployed as a predictive diagnostic tool in 14 of Enel's thermal power plants in Europe as well as Latin America. GE Power CEO Russell Stokes remarked, "The digital transformation of electricity has the potential to generate more than ?1.1 billion in value for the global power and utility industry in the next decade. Enel is demonstrating that it intends to lead this digital transformation, and I'm excited by the prospect of bringing our teams together to write a new chapter for Enel and for the industry." Morgan analyst Stephen Tusa this week maintained a "sell" rating on the stock while Tigress Financial analyst Ivan Feinseth reiterated a "hold" rating.
