Abengoa recognized again as world leader for action on climate change by CDP

  • Abengoa has been recognized in the Climate Disclosure Project (CDP) Supplier A List of companies implementing policies to battle climate change.

February 1st, 2016. - Abengoa (MCE: ABG.B/P SM /NASDAQ: ABGB), the international company that applies innovative technology solutions for sustainability in the energy and environment sectors, has been recognized by CDP (Climate Disclosure Project) for the implementation of actions to fight climate change.

This is the second consecutive year Abengoa has been recognized in the A List, an index acknowledging companies listed on stock markets having proved commitment with the environment in their business strategy.

The index is included in the new report by CDP 'From Agreement to Action'. The document is designed to mobilize suppliers toward a climate resilient world in light of the recent global climate change agreement from COP21, the summit taking place late last year. The study has been produced at the request of 75 multinational purchasers who work with the aforementioned non-governmental organization to better understand and manage the environmental impacts.

Specifically, the A List presents 71 suppliers identified as demonstrating a 'superior approach to climate change mitigation'. This publication is structured in several sectors such as consumer, energy, financials, health care, industrials, information technology, materials, telecommunication services, and utilities. Among the 71 recognized companies, 19 of them are classified as industrials, including Abengoa, one of the only Spanish companies in the group.
