Barcelona, 22 October 2016

The Abertis Group, via Abertis Autopistas España and the Abertis Foundation, took part in the Festa dels Súpers children's festival for the first time in 2016, the year that the Club Súper 3 programme celebrates its 25th anniversary. The infrastructure group was present at Europe's largest children's festival with a 400-m2 stand that was divided into three zones: two driving circuits, one occupying over 160 m2 on which electric cars were driven, and a 63-m2 circuit for bicycles and tricycles for infants.

In the 'Learning zone', a 60-m2 space, children could discover, through physical games and with electronic devices, the new 'Autopistas Car Trip Adventure' road safety game, which is built into the Autopistas en Ruta mobile app.

In all the activities, the children were accompanied by various traffic signs transformed into cartoon characters who provided advice on safe driving and highlight the importance of various aspects of responsible driving, such as wearing a helmet or a seat belt, and the dangers of not keeping vehicles properly maintained and of looking at mobile devices whilst behind the wheel.

After visiting the Abertis Group stand children received a safe driver's licence and an animated game inspired by the traditional 'Game of the Goose', in which traffic signs lead the player via the most entertaining and the safest route. The aim was for children to become safety ambassadors too, encouraging their parents to drive responsibly.

Autopistas car trip adventure

'Autopistas Car Trip Adventure' is the new road safety game built into Abertis Autopistas' Autopistas en Ruta mobile app. In a simple and entertaining manner, Autopistas Car Trip Adventure shows the key factors in planning and taking a safe journey through a number of mini games that teach children about road signs, roads, responsible behaviour behind the wheel and all aspects of road safety on a trip on a toll road. The game is aimed at children aged 6 to 8 and features a range of safety tips such as how to stow luggage away, what to do before setting out on a trip and how to drive depending on weather conditions.

The children of the company's employees were involved in creating 'Autopistas Car Trip Adventure.' They tested the beta version of the game and provided feedback, which helped to improve some aspects of the application.

The 'Festa dels Súpers'

The 'Festa del Súpers' festival, which takes place over 65.000 m2, is the largest children's festival in Europe. For more than twenty years over 150 activities for children have been staged in the third weekend of October including live performances and a wide range of competitions. This edition coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Club Súper 3 programme.
