ABN AMRO was named 'Best Bank in the Netherlands' during the 2018 Euromoney Awards for Excellence in London on 11 July 2018.

The award is a clear recognition of ABN AMRO's regional leadership in the market and receiving this award for yet another time is yet another accolade underpinning the bank's credentials and our market leading position in the Netherlands.

At the ceremony, Vincent Goedegebuure, Head of Global Markets, Corporate & Institutional Banking received the award on behalf of ABN AMRO. He said: 'We are delighted to be recognised by Euromoney yet again and our consistent acknowledgement by opinion leaders in the banking industry is a testament to our capabilities. We will continue our efforts in ensuring we hold our trusted position and deliver on our promise.'

'ABN AMRO was successful last year in improving its efficiency, even as it retains a strong local position in Investment Banking,' Euromoney commented.

The award is also a recognition of ABN AMRO's push for digital transformation, having launched a wide range of initiatives in the last year; and the number of users of the highly successful payment app Tikkie rose to over 3 million in June 2018.

The Euromoney Annual Awards for Excellence have been evaluating and acknowledging the best banks of the world for 27 years and are recognised as the most prestigious in the financial services industry.
