ABN AMRO issued its third green bond on 11 April. The bond has a 7-year maturity and a total volume of EUR 750 million.

The green assets underlying this bond are mortgage loans for energy-efficient homes and financing for offshore wind park projects. There was considerable interest from the market for this bond. Investors subscribed to a total of more than EUR 1.25 billion, 80% of which was issued to green investors.

The bond has been issued as part of ABN AMRO's renewed Green Bond Framework. Danielle Boerendans of ABN AMRO Treasury: 'Investors are looking for ways to realise green investments. This bond's structure comprises all 'green' safeguards currently considered relevant by the market.'

ABN AMRO previously issued green bonds in 2015 and 2016. The bank also structures green bonds for clients. ABN AMRO was recently awarded the title 'Lead manager of the year for green bonds issued by banks'.
