Third Consecutive Time Accenture Positioned as a Leader

NEW YORK; September 22, 2015 - Accenture (NYSE:ACN) has again been positioned as a Leader in an IDC Health Insights vendor assessment covering IT outsourcing (ITO) across sales and marketing in the life science industry.

The report, "IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Life Science Sales and Marketing ITO 2015 Vendor Assessment" (#HI258425, August 2015), provides an assessment of the life science sales & marketing industry and market trends, comparing major vendors and assesses the criteria that are most important for life science companies to consider when selecting a service provider.

For the purposes of this report, ITO includes all services surrounding systems implementation, systems integration, data integration, application development, maintenance, support, infrastructure outsourcing, and other types of related IT-centric services. For the analysis, IDC MarketScape divided potential key measures for success into two primary categories: strengths and challenges. The assessment includes client references. "As an industry leader, we can help clients create and operate more efficient, effective, digitally-enabled sales and marketing models that significantly improve multichannel engagements with traditional and new customers, as well as providing better outcomes for the patients themselves."
In naming Accenture as a Leader, the IDC MarketScape stated, "Accenture has extensive experience working with life science companies across all three sections of the industry: pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical devices." Additionally, "Relative to other vendors discussed in this report and based on feedback from multiple customer references, Accenture rated highly in project management and for its account management capabilities."

In 2012 and 2013, the IDC MarketScape released similar vendor assessments in which Accenture was also positioned as a Leader in reports covering ITO across sales and marketing in the life science industry.
