NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / October 30, 2017 / U.S. markets were lifted Friday by impressive earnings from the technology sector, with both the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq closing at record highs. The S&P 500 Index rose 0.81 percent to close at 2,581.07, while the Nasdaq Composite Index spiked 2.20 percent to close at 6,701.26. On Friday, Alphabet Inc., Amazon.com Inc., Intel Corp. and Microsoft Corp. all reported earnings that were above expectations.

"We were amazed when we were getting the numbers last night," said Randy Warren, CIO at Warren Financial. "This rally is based on earnings."

"When you look at why the indexes are moving up, it's because of real earnings growth, and there are no signs of that abating," Warren said.
