Press Release

Aéroports de Paris September 2015 traffic figures Refining of the 2015 traffic assumption

In September 2015, Aéroports de Paris saw 8.6 million passengers; an increase of 18.5% on September 2014.

  1. million passengers travelled through Paris-Charles de Gaulle (+21.1%) and 2.7 million through Paris-Orly (+13.0%).

    As a reminder, passenger traffic was strongly impacted in September 2014 (-10.4%) by the Air France pilots' strike, which resulted in a drop in passenger numbers of 60,000 a day on average at the Paris airports the last two weeks of the month. Excluding the impact of the strike, traffic growth in September is estimated at approximately 4.1%.

    • International traffic (excluding Europe) was up by 18.4%, with growth in all destinations: Latin America (+39.5%), North America (+27.3%), Asia-Pacific (+19.2%), the Middle East (+16.0%), Africa (+11.1%) and the French Overseas Territories (+3.1%);

    • European traffic (excluding France) was up (+14.3%);

    • Traffic within France was up (+31.9%);

    • The number of connecting passengers increased by 57.1%. The connecting rate stood at 25.2%, up by 5.9 points on September 2014.

Since the beginning of the year, Aéroports de Paris passenger traffic has seen growth of 3.9%, with a total of 73.2 million passengers. The number of connecting passengers has risen by 6.8%. The connecting rate remains at 23,6%, up by 0.6 points.

The recent development of traffic has led Aéroports de Paris Group to revise upwards its assumption for growth in traffic at the Paris airports in 2015, compared to 2014: the latter, which was previously 2.6%, now becomes 'higher or equal to 3.0%'. As a consequence, estimated average annual traffic growth over the 2011-2015 period becomes 2.6%, compared to 2.7% previously1.

Passenger traffic at TAV Airports, 38%-owned by Aéroports de Paris, increased by 4.1% in September 2015, and has risen by 8.4% (1)since the beginning of the year.
