Peter Huijboom adds global brands leadership to his current responsibilities

London, 30 May 2013 - Aegis Media today announces that Nigel Sharrocks, CEO, Aegis Media Global Brands, is to retire from the business at the end of the summer of 2013. Peter Huijboom, Aegis Media's Global Director of Business Integration, is appointed to the role of CEO Media Brands & Global Clients, in addition to his current responsibilities.

Nigel Sharrocks joined Aegis Media in 2004 from Warner Bros. Pictures UK, where he had been MD since 1999. Nigel was appointed to his current role in 2010, having been CEO of Aegis Media UK & Ireland from July 2004. As CEO of Aegis Media's global media brands of Carat and Vizeum and a long-standing member of Aegis Media's global leadership team, Nigel has been a key contributor to Aegis Media's significant market outperformance in recent years. During his time at Aegis, Nigel has also been instrumental in culturally transforming the business into the high performance and inclusive organisation it is today.

Commenting on Nigel Sharrocks's retirement Jerry Buhlmann, CEO of the Dentsu Aegis Network and Aegis Media said: "I have had the good fortune to work with Nigel for nearly ten years. Nigel is one of the most respected and popular figures, not only at Aegis Media but across the advertising industry, where he has made many friends during a long and distinguished career. We will miss Nigel enormously and he leaves with our very best wishes for a long and happy retirement."

"I am delighted to appoint Peter Huijboom, a member of the Aegis Media Global Executive and Global Director of Business Integration, to the role of CEO Media Brands & Global Clients. Since rejoining Aegis in January this year Peter has made a significant and positive impact on the business. With his extensive board, global and client experience Peter is extremely well placed to build on Carat and Vizeum's track record for high performance, as well as contribute significantly to delivering the many synergies that exist between Aegis Media and Dentsu for the benefit of our clients."

Nigel Sharrocks said: "I have enjoyed my time at Aegis Media enormously and as the business enters the next chapter of its development, with Dentsu, now seems like the right time for me to step aside. During my time at Aegis the business has gone from strength to strength. The performance, size, capability and culture of the business have all transformed and I am proud to have been a part of the team that delivered this change and to leave Aegis in such good health. I wish all my friends across the business well and I will watch future developments with interest."

Peter Huijboom said: "The merger with Dentsu has created an extremely strong platform for growth. Over the last months I have been fully focused on the assessing, prioritising and driving the revenue synergy opportunities for the combined group and in my new role I am looking forward to working with the leadership teams of Carat, Vizeum and Dentsu to deliver these opportunities for the benefit of our clients."
