Aegon Direct & Affinity Marketing Services Asia (ADAMS) has announced its first venture into China through a strategic business partnership with Aegon THTF, a 50:50 joint venture (JV) between Aegon and Tsinghua Tongfang (THTF).

The management team from ADAMS and Aegon THTF signed a consulting agreement in Hong Kong on Wednesday 3rd September 2015 (pictured left, Eric Zhu General Manager of AEGON THTF, and right, David Skinner Chairman of ADAMS Asia Pacific).

As a wholly owned subsidiary of the Aegon Group, ADAMS operates as an independent direct marketing consultancy company in Asia, with established operations in Australia, Indonesia, Japan and Thailand. Key to its growth strategy is a focus on emerging markets.

David Skinner, stated; "China has always been a high priority in ADAMS expansion strategy for Asia, however we have been looking for the right timing and the right partnership to commence business operations there. Aegon THTF is currently undergoing significant changes aligning with the strategic directions set out under the new JV agreement, and the timing could not be better for ADAMS to come in and support Aegon THTF senior management in the development of sustainable growth for the Direct Marketing channel."

ADAMS will provide consultancy and advisory services to Aegon THTF in relation to the direct marketing of Aegon THTF's insurance policies. Ms. Ursula Leung has been appointed as the Chief Marketing Officer for ADAMS - China Market, and will be primarily based in Shanghai within the Aegon THTF office in order to be closer to the day-to-day operations.

The signing ceremony was held in the American Club at Central, Hong Kong and witnessed by the board members for Aegon THTF including Wang Lin, David Wolf and Damiaan Jacobovits de Szeged.
