Agricultural Bank of China : ABC Model Lab Project Wins “The Operational Risk Technology Implementation of the Year” of Asia-Pacific Risk Management Award by The Asian Banker

At the 16th Asian Banker Summit recently convened in Hong Kong, the model lab project of ABC won "The Operational Risk Technology Implementation of the Year" of Asia-Pacific Risk Management Award by The Asian Banker.
Risk Management Award is the top professional and authoritative award in Asia-Pacific region to commend financial institutions for their excellent risk-related implementation and management after appraisal according to the highest international standards. ABC is the first winner of the award from China, implying that its risk technology implementation is highly recognized by international authoritative financial institutions and that the global influence of ABC brand is further accepted.
The model lab is established in reference to advanced peers to meet the modeling needs of ABC, serving as a corporation-level data analysis platform for model development, verification and management by its business and technical departments. It integrates statistical analysis, data digging, visual presentation and more key technologies, and is subject to data access control featuring external restriction and classified internal access. The lab is supported by a complete set of model development and management framework including standardized model development process, uniform model specifications and specialized methodology and technical instructions to sharply lower down the Big Data use threshold on the basis of data security. Extensively applied to various segments of ABC, it supported development of dozens of models such as risk management, customer development, product innovation and system operation and maintenance and guided technical and business innovations via Big Data analysis technology.
