Using Pléiades data, Airbus Defence and Space and CIPAC produced a map of the sports facilities in Port Moresby, in advance of the XV Pacific Games

Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea, is hosting the XV Pacific Games from 4th to 18th July, 2015.

The city has invested heavily in refurbishing, building and developing its facilities to hold the competition which covers 28 sporting disciplines.

The recent Pléiades image captured on 2nd June 2015 shows the facilities ready to receive the sportsmen and sportswomen and their supporters. The map produced shows the locations of the sports sites and tourism hotels.

Based in New Caledonia, CIPAC (Compagnie Industrielle du Pacifique) distributes Airbus Defence and Space products and services over the entire South Pacific area, in particular Pléiades and SPOT 6/7 data.
