As of January 1, 2017 Allianz Investment Management SE (AIM) will have a joint leadership in order to strengthen global functions and the network. Claus Stickler and Andreas Gruber will co-lead AIM as Managing Directors.

They will succeed the current AIM CEO, Günther Thallinger, who will join the board of management of Allianz SE starting January 1, 2017, taking over the responsibility for Investment Management as well as Global Life and Health from Maximilian Zimmerer, who retires on December 31, 2016.

In the new management set-up, Claus Stickler will take responsibility e.g. for all platforms such as asset manager management, investment monitoring and reporting, investment operations and AIM operations. Andreas Gruber will be in charge of Asset Liability Management, Strategic Asset Allocation, investment strategy and all portfolios.

AIM, since its start almost 10 years ago, has grown into a fully-fledged investment management function, integrating all investment areas across Allianz operating entities. Over the past decade, AIM has been a role model for international collaboration and joint development of investment solutions within the Allianz Group. Comparison with competitors shows that AIM today is one of the strongest insurance investors.
