Today, Alstom Grid hosts, in its Sector headquarters in La Défense Paris, the Energy Positive IT 2.0 consortium led by EMBIX. The event joins 14 partners, including Alstom, to present the R&D Energy Positive IT 2.0 (EPIT 2.0) project's first results. This project was launched within the 11th call for project from the French Fond Unique Interministériel; it aims to create, develop and validate an open information system for intelligent control of energy (SIORE architecture) in an eco-system, from 2011 to 2014.

The developed solution provides a measurement tool and real-time monitoring of production data, consumption and energy storage. It was tested in the headquarters of Alstom Grid, and the headquarters of Bouygues Construction, Challenger, in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.

As part of this consortium, Alstom clarified the software architectures and IEC standards (International Electrotechnical Commission - international organization for standardization) for the development of energy management tools within the city (with its partners Bouygues Energy Services, EMBIX and Zamiren).

The prototyping of new, real-time Big Data solutions - management and metadata analysis - for the management of urban infrastructure has also been launched in partnership with the Atomic Energy Centre and Supelec, the School of Electrical Engineering. This project allowed Alstom to launch the development of new energy objects "Internet of Things", and finalise its partnership with Dotvision, a new player in intelligent connected devices to optimise power consumption in the city. This partnership centres on the Spoony project announced at the European Utility Week early November. This project also initiated Alstom's partnership with Renault, establishing the necessary software interfaces with new vehicle connected objects.

Several R&D projects were born out of this innovative project, with Alstom's participation, including Eco2Charge, ReflexE, or SystemX, each addressing a technological component of the optimisation system.
