Alstom, in order to refresh and conduct technical skills in hydro generation, offers its clients practical and theoretical courses. Classes can be conducted both at the company's unit in Taubaté, at a specialized training center opened last year and which counts on excellent infrastructure, and also at external locations. The curriculum includes a program of Alstom itself, already structured, or can also be customized meeting the needs of customers. The course is provided by Alstom' experts in hydro services.

The main benefits include learning new technologies, formation of a team totally specialized in hydro generation services, both for operation of plants and for making decisions in this area. Moreover, it provides knowledge to offer more reliability for the generation of electric power and to the preservation of the life cycle of equipment.

At the moment, seven courses are offered. They include: SDSC-Digital Supervision and Control System, RT -Tension Regulators, RV- Speed Regulator, Foundations of Turbines, Foundations of Generators, Lifting and Load Movement Equipment, in additionto otherscomprising the operation of hydro mechanical equipment. To attend the classes it is necessary that some requirements are met, defined according to the specifics of each course. Classes will be divided on average for 20 students.

"It is extremely gratifying to be able to convey technical knowledge to our clients and help them operate their plants in an effective and safe way. The demand for these courses is growing progressively, and this only confirms the absolute success of the program", says Januário Dolores, General Director of the Hydro Generation business of Alstom in Latin America.

For 60 years in Brazil, Alstom operates in the hydro power generation segment and has already offered over 20 courses like these for 23 customers. With the arrival of new technologies and the modernization of systems, the perspective for 2015 is to offer 15 classes, between April and December.

Thus, with this qualification center, Alstom not only innovates using technologies, but also qualifies its clients to use them in a productive and reliable way.
