Guests will include California legislators, business owners and community leaders. California American Water, a CPUC regulated water utility serving approximately 600,000 people around the state will give a presentation focusing on the state’s water issues, drought and how water will impact California’s economic future.

“The California economy is intertwined with our water resources. From tourism to agriculture to manufacturing, the California economy runs on water,” said California Black Chamber of Commerce CEO Aubry Stone. “Prosperity begins with water and I’m looking forward to discussing these issues with a company that is on the forefront of ensuring safe and reliable water service for customers around the state.”

The ongoing drought has focused attention on water issues in the state. Without adequate water resources some industries have floundered and Californians have suffered. As part of the California Black Chamber of Commerce’s Capitol Policy Luncheon leaders from California American Water will share their unique perspective as a multi-district utility that serves areas from Sacramento to Los Angeles and will focus on some of their innovative projects including the San Clemente Dam Removal Project and the Monterey Regional Water Project which includes indirect potable reuse and desalination technologies.
