Today, Missouri American Water announced the company’s acquisition of the Redfield water system located near Eugene Mo. and previously owned by RMB Inc. Missouri American Water already provides sewer services to the 22 homes and businesses in the Redfield community.

“The acquisition of this water system will provide Redfield water customers with the same quality service that they have enjoyed as our sewer customers,” said Frank Kartmann, President of Missouri American Water.

The acquisition of the Redfield system was approved by the Missouri Public Service Commission on March 11 and closed today. The Redfield system will be incorporated into Missouri American Water’s East Central Missouri Operation, which serves approximately 49,000 customers in Jefferson City, St. Charles, Warren and Jefferson Counties and Mexico, Missouri.

Customers have received letters with information about the water system sale and transition. They will receive their first monthly bill from Missouri American Water for water and wastewater service in mid-May. In the past, water service was billed at a flat rate regardless of monthly usage. Missouri American Water is replacing water meters in the Redfield system this week so the water portion of customers’ bills will be based on their actual usage.

Customers may contact Missouri American Water with any questions about service or billing/payment issues at 866-430-0820. More information on the company’s billing and payment options is available online at www.missouriamwater.com.
