PENNSYLVANIA AMERICAN WATER MANAGER NAMED TO DEP ADVISORY COMMITTEE HERSHEY, Pa. (September 23, 2014) - Pennsylvania American Water announced today that Jon Prawdzik has been appointed by Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Secretary E. Christopher Abruzzo to the agency's Certification Program Advisory Committee. Prawdzik is water quality and environmental compliance manager for the company's southcentral and southeast PA region. Secretary Abruzzo appointed him to a three-year term on the advisory panel, which offers input to DEP on draft regulations and guidance documents pertaining to operator certification programs.
Prawdzik joined Pennsylvania American Water in 1998. In his current role, Prawdzik is responsible for overseeing regulatory compliance for 19 public water systems. He provides technical expertise on water quality, treatment and compliance issues to ensure that the water systems continually meet all Safe Drinking Water Act and Clean Water Act requirements.
A resident of Dillsburg, Prawdzik received a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from East Stroudsburg University. He maintains Class A, E Water Systems Operator Certification and is a member of American Water Works Association.
