By division, Health & Personal Protection recorded sales of €501.64 million in 2012, up slightly by 0.5%. Brokerage commissions and fees increased by 1.6%, while insurance premiums declined by 1.4%. The difficulties of the Swiss subsidiary, which has been affected by a change in local regulations, held back growth at the level of the division, but health and personal protection activities in France remained upbeat, with organic growth of nearly 4.0% for brokerage commissions and fees.

Property & Casualty recorded an increase of 5.4% in sales to €281.78 million. Brokerage commissions and fees increased by 1.0%, confirming trends observed in the first half of 2012, as double-digit growth was recorded by most niche wholesale brokers in France while there was a dip at the integrated distribution activities in the context of measures to streamline and merge with the health network under the APRIL umbrella brand. Insurance premiums increased by 16.2% with the resumption of fronting for controlled risks originating from the Group's brokers, for which the retention rate is slight, and dynamic growth for the legal protection business.

2012 was marked by two acquisitions, with the integration of MediCare International - a British wholesale broker specialising in health insurance for expatriates - in the month of April and then of Asia Assistance Partners - a company specialised in medical assistance and medical claims handling for insurance and assistance companies in the Asia-Pacific region - in July. The impact of these changes in the consolidation scope on 2012 sales amounted to €2.35 million. These two acquisitions round off our portfolio of activities in mobility insurance and assistance, which are now the backbone of the Group's international development. This activity continued to record strong growth, up 12.0%.
