Automotive Solutions Germany, Assystem Germany and Silver Atena at the IAA 2017 Electronic and ultra-light: Future-oriented technologies in the E-vehicle and LED-fog lights with magnesium body Munich, August 22nd, 2017 - For the first time, the engineering service provider Assystem Germany provides weight-optimized components for e-mobility and lighting together with its daughter companies Automotive Solutions Germany (lighting systems) and Silver Atena (electronics) at the IAA 2017. The new developments can be seen from September 12th to 15th, 2017 in hall 4.1 at the stand E41.

"As an engineering service provider with more than 12,500 employees worldwide, of whom 3,500 are employed in the automotive sector, we are always working on new developments in the vehicle sector," says Alexander Graf, Managing Director of Assystem Germany GmbH. "On the basis of our own IP, we also develop new solutions and products, which we can configure and integrate precisely for our customers. In the E-Mobility segment, for example, these are electronic control units for braking systems and high- performance silicon carbide-based power electronics for different voltage levels, as can be seen at the IAA. With our latest acquisition, Automotive Solutions Germany, the lighting technology experts, we offer additional light design possibilities for our customers, such as the ultimate LED lighting systems, which we are officially presenting at the IAA. "

Ultra-light LED-fog lights

The LED fog lights design of ASG sets new standards in terms of lightweight construction and installation space. Thanks to state-of-the-art Thixomolding-technology and the use of magnesium, the module is five times lighter and much more compact than conventional models with aluminium body and heat sink. "With our know-how, we offer our customers not only modern lighting technology. A top priority is also a reliable and efficient industrialization of the products. For our new headlight concept, this means state-of-the-art technology for cost-neutral production, "explains Andreas Spiegelberger, Managing Director of ASG.

Future-oriented technologies in the E-vehicle: Brake-by-Wire and Silicon-Carbide-Technology

Silver Atena presents a quantum leap of weight reduction with its electromechanical brake solution from the company Vienna Engineering. By controlling the brakes with software instead of hydraulic or pneumatic components, savings are made in the form of otherwise necessary accessories such as tanks or pumps. A high transmission ratio with low actuation losses and without mechanical friction losses, the brake is optimally adapted to the requirements in the electric or hybrid vehicle. It is thus a building block to increase the range of an E-vehicle or to reduce the emissions of a vehicle with an internal combustion engine. Silver Atena has developed the electronic control unit as well as the complete safety architecture for the braking system. A further development focus of Silver Atena is the power electronics from 48 volts to high volt. The company supplies DC / DC converters as well as inverters for advanced applications up to the high speed range. Impressive weight, volume and performance advantages are achieved by the use of state-of-the-art silicon carbide technology.
