Babcock will continue to fly for two key Queensland helicopter rescue organisations until at least 2024 after securing significant contract extensions.

Babcock Mission Critical Services Australasia has provided helicopter emergency services on behalf of both the RACQ CQ Rescue Helicopter Service in Mackay and the RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service in Rockhampton since 2013.

'We are delighted to have secured long-term extensions to these contracts,' said John Boag, Managing Director for Babcock Mission Critical Services Australasia.

'Both RACQ CQ Rescue and RACQ Capricorn Rescue provide essential services to their communities, and we are proud to play a vital role in that. We're looking forward to continuing our strong working relationships with both customers.'

The two rescue organisations are individual not-for-profit entities delivering helicopter emergency medical services and search and rescue with Bell 412 aircraft on behalf of the Queensland Government. Babcock enables them to provide 24/7 365 days a year coverage, including a team of highly trained pilots, aircrew and engineers to deliver a complete package of critical operational support.

'This cements our position as a leading provider of helicopter support services,' Mr Boag said.

Babcock maintains and operates one of Australia's largest helicopter fleets.
