Changes on the Board of Directors of Bâloise Holding Ltd

Basel, 11 December 2017. German economics professor Hans-Jörg Schmidt-Trenz is to join Bâloise Holding Ltd's Board of Directors. Werner Kummer has decided not to stand for re-election at the Annual General Meeting in 2018.

Nomination of Professor Hans-Jörg Schmidt-Trenz

The Board of Directors of Bâloise Holding Ltd has decided to propose Hans-Jörg Schmidt-Trenz for election at the Annual General Meeting on 27 April 2018. Schmidt-Trenz (58) is a professor of economics at the University of Hamburg and Saarland University in Germany. He is President of the HSBA Hamburg School of Business Administration and, was Chief Executive Officer of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce from 1996 to 2017.

"With his excellent network of international contacts, invaluable knowledge of finance and insurance, and his long-standing role as Chief Executive Officer of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, Professor Schmidt-Trenz will be a fantastic addition to the Board of Directors," explains Andreas Burckhardt, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bâloise Holding Ltd.

Werner Kummer has decided not to stand for re-election at the 2018 Annual General Meeting of Bâloise Holding Ltd. Kummer (70) joined the Board of Directors in 2000. He has been on the Audit and Risk Committee (formerly the Audit Committee) since 2002, becoming its chairman in 2004. Kummer is also a member of the Chairman's Committee and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors.
