An important step towards harmonising payment transactions was taken at the end of June 2018: the DTA format was replaced by the pain.001 format. This international standard has now been adopted by all Swiss banks. Since 1 July 2018, all companies or individuals must send their payment files in the new xml format to their bank.

Nearly 80% of BCGE clients concerned have switched to the ISO 20022 standard
Thanks to continuous communication with our clients and support during this delicate stage, the vast majority of our clients now make their payments according to the new ISO 20022 standard.

Although the deadline has expired, DTA files will still be accepted by BCGE for a few months.
Clients who have not yet made the necessary changes should quickly contact their software provider to upgrade their software tools as soon as possible.
BCGE continues to support its clients for a smooth migration.

Next steps in harmonising payment traffic
The transition to xml format is the first step in harmonising payment transactions. This decisive step is the key to a successful transition to the next stages.

Two other important steps have yet to be taken :

  • At the end of 2018, E-bill will become eBill, with a completely transparent change of eBill processing platform for clients
  • In mid 2020, the QR-bill will replace the current inpayment slips and will integrate a QR Code instead of the line of coding which will allow an automated and optimised processing of invoices.
