Neckarsulm/Bonn, 31May 2017- NATO Communications and Information (NCI) Agency has accepted Bechtle AG's bid for a framework contract to fulfil its IT component needs. A tailored order management system allows authorised entities to procure a range of harmonised hardware, including workstations, laptops, tablets, displays, and other end devices. The framework contract entitled 'IT Modernization (ITM) Work Package 2 (WP2)' was signed on 19 May 2017 and will amount to up to 45 million euros. It has a duration of five years and includes the option of two one-year renewals. This is NATO's biggest IT.

NATO will procure IT end devices from Bechtle to facilitate an extensive modernisation of its IT infrastructure and ensure the use of standardised IT equipment across all NATO sites. As NATO's prime contractor, Bechtle AG will fulfil the ITM WP2 contract together with its long-standing partner Dell Inc. who will deliver the hardware, as well as IT security specialist GBS Tempest & Service GmbH to proof the devices against tempest attacks designed to gather intelligence from electromagnetic emission.

The central project organisation lies with Bechtle AG, while a dedicated team located at Bechtle's Bonn branch will be in charge of all operational tasks required by the alliance. Bechtle's international logistics network will ensure on-time delivery of IT equipment to a total of 44 NATO sites.

Jörg Terschüren, head of Bechtle Systemhaus Holding AG's Armed Forces & NATO division: 'We are very pleased to be contributing our extensive experience to help modernise NATO's IT. This international bid complements our many activities in national security. We are now able to leverage and share synergies with defence ministries and NATO members across national borders.' Bechtle maintains a fast-growing Public Sector division. The company counts many federal ministries among its customers and, since 2009, the German army, Bundeswehr.
