Working out of the firm's Oxford Business Park office, Carolyn Meister will be supported by South West regional managing partner Julie Palmer and director Sally Richards.

Carolyn's career in insolvency began in 1985 in the north east of England. She relocated to the south in 2010, covering Witney, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire for Jamesons Insolvency & Business Rescue LLP.

Julie Palmer said: 'Carolyn is an incredibly experienced practitioner and a fantastic addition to Begbies Traynor's team in the south and west of England. Furthermore, we see this as a very timely appointment, as our latest research into financial distress levels shows that the number of Oxford businesses with problems is on the increase. We are certain Carolyn will add value to these struggling firms.'

Carolyn added: 'I am absolutely delighted to be joining the Begbies Traynor team in Oxford and very much look forward to helping local businesses facing financial problems get back into a position of growth and stability. A key attraction for me in moving to Begbies Traynor is how it successfully combines national expertise with on-the-ground local knowledge - this gives us an incredibly powerful business rescue and recovery offering.'

Begbies Traynor opened its Oxford office in 2014 as part of an expansion programme across the south and west of England.

Outside of work, civic-minded Carolyn recently assisted members of her local community with the successful turnaround of their village pub by taking an active part in its management for five months before handing it over to a new landlady. Carolyn is recently remarried and is a mother to grown-up children.
