Proximus and Huawei today launched a strategic partnership focused on innovation that matters to customers. Starting from the existing business relationship, the partnership entails strategic cooperation areas ranging from mobile experience leadership to digital services development over agile platforms.
The agreement was signed by Dominique Leroy, CEO of Proximus and Eric Xu, Rotating CEO of Huawei, during the annual World Economic Forum in Davos.
Proximus and Huawei will initially focus their collaboration on three strategic areas:
Mobile Experience LeadershipFor mobile users, voice quality remains a priority, while data and video traffic is gathering speed. Joint teams involving experts from Proximus and Huawei will work on continuously improving the user experience.
As 80% of mobile traffic is generated indoors, stricter building and isolation guidelines mean that deep indoor coverage and capacity are becoming more challenging. Proximus and Huawei will collaborate to turn this challenge into an opportunity through innovative solutions, leveraging small cell technologies for a seamless indoor-to-outdoor experience.
The strategic partnership between Proximus and Huawei creates a flexible framework that will enable the partners to improve their ability to respond to rapidly changing needs by stepping up their joint innovative capabilities.
