With a view to the development of new growth areas and even better service
Proximus plays an important role in the digital economy by investing massively in fixed and mobile networks and new innovative services. In this way the company creates economic growth and new jobs in Belgium. The company is recruiting 162 new employees in various disciplines around the country. Proximus wants to distinguish itself in the area of customer experience and is therefore looking for employees for its shops and customer service and for splicers for its cable network. Proximus is also looking to recruit people with specific skills for the development of new services in growth areas such as Internet of Things, Big Data and Security. In the first three months of 2015, Proximus has already recruited around 50 new employees. Another 162 are to be recruited in the short term.
Proximus wants to distinguish itself in the area of customer experience
Proximus wants to offer excellent quality and service with networks of outstanding quality and easy accessibility. That is why the company is looking for 72 technicians for its underground cable network. The technicians maintain and upgrade the cable network and connect new customers. In addition, Proximus is recruiting 24 staff to provide an excellent service in the shops and at Customer Service.
New skills and jobs for growth areas
Proximus aims to be a major player in the digital economy and is therefore focusing even more on innovation in 2015. Proximus will be developing user-friendly services with added value in growth areas such as Internet of Things, Big Data, New Way of Working and Security.
To support this growth, Proximus is looking for 44 employees with specific skills: data analysts, security experts, project and sales managers and IT architects and employees for the finance department.
Investing in the managers of tomorrow
Every year Proximus recruits promising young graduates with master's degrees. For 2015 Proximus is looking for 22 management trainees wanting to start work on 1 September 2015. To enable them to get to know the company well and gain experience, they will work in different departments over a two-year period. That experience will give them the opportunity to subsequently take up a job at Proximus that corresponds with their interests and training.

With 14,000 employees, Proximus is one of Belgium's largest employers. Proximus SA is the leading telecommunications operator in Belgium. Net sales (including intragroup) break down by activity as follows:
- telecommunication services to individuals (36.4%): fixed telephony (1 million installed lines at the end of 2023), mobile telephony (3.3 million clients), Internet access services (1.8 million subscribers), interactive television broadcasting (1,674,000 subscribers), convergent services (1,112,000 subscribers), etc.;
- telecommunication services to enterprises (35.2%): fixed telephony (566,000 lines at the end of 2023), mobile telephony (1.8 million post-paid cards distributed), Internet access services and data transmission (440,000 subscribers). The group also sells wholesale communication minutes to other operators located in Belgium;
- carrier services (18.4%; BICS): connectivity and capacity services for telecom operators and international service providers;
- other (10%).
Belgium accounts for 71.7% of net sales.
